Rural Electrification Corporation -REC
  • REC is a navratna company under administrative control of Ministry of Power.
  • It is the nodal agency for implementation of Saubhagya and DDUGJY. It is the coordinating agency for rolling out UDAY.
Bureau of Energy Efficiency - BEE
  •  BEE was set up in 2002 by Ministry of Power, under the Energy Conservation Act, 2001. 
  •  The mission of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency is to assist in developing policies and strategies with a thrust on self-regulation and market principles, within the overall framework of the Energy Conservation Act, 2001 with the primary objective of reducing energy intensity of the Indian economy. 
Indian Council of Agricultural Research - ICAR
  • ICAR is an autonomous organisation under Dept. of Agricultural Research and Education( DARE), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer's Welfare. 
  •  Formerly known as Imperial Council of Agricultural Research, it was established on 16 July 1929 as a registered society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 in pursuance of the report of the Royal Commission on Agriculture.
IMD
  •  Established in 1875, it is under the administrative control of Ministry of Earth Sciences. 
  • It is also one of the 8 Regional Specialised Meteorological Centres of WMO.
Central Water Commission - CWC
  • CWC is an attached office of the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Government of India.
  • The Commission is entrusted with the general responsibilities of initiating, coordinating and furthering in consultation of the State Governments concerned, schemes for control, conservation and utilization of water resources throughout the country, for purpose of Flood Control, Irrigation, Navigation, Drinking Water Supply and Water Power Development.
Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation - PESO
  •  PESO is the apex dept. to control and administer manufacture, storage, transport and handling of explosives, petroleum, compressed gases and other hazardous substances in India. It administers acts such as Explosives Act 1884, Petroleum Act 1934, Inflammable Substances Act 1952 etc. 
  • It functions under the Department for the Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry as a regulatory authority with autonomous status.
Central Drug Standard Control Organisation - CDSCO
  •  CDSCO, under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, is the authority that approves new drugs for manufacture and import
  • Within the CDSCO, Drug Controller General of India ( DCGI), regulates pharmaceutical and medical devices. The DCGI is advised by the Drug Technical Advisory Board. 
National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority - NPPA
  •  NPPA is an independent body under the Department of Pharmaceuticals under Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers. 
  • National Pharmaceutical Pricing Policy ( NPPP) is the policy governing price control and Drugs(Prices Control) Order 2013, DPCO, is the order by which price control is enforced. National List of Essential Medicines- NLEM are included in Schedule 1 of DPCO. On the basis of NLEM, NPPA fixes the prices of formulations using the provisions of the DPCO and monitors its compliance. 
  • Drugs & Cosmetics Act, 1940 administered by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare do not contain any provisions for pricing of drugs
National Statistical Commission
  •  NSC was set up by GoI as an autonomous institution in 2005 on recommendations of Dr. C. Rangrajan Committee. 
  •  It has a part time Chairman, four part time members and CEO of NITI ayog as ex-officio member. 
  • The Chief Statistician of India serves as the Secretary of the Commission. 
Energy Efficiency Services Limited - EESL
  •  Founded in 2009, EESL is promoted by Ministry of Power, Government of India as a Joint Venture of four reputed public- sector undertakings NTPC Limited, Power Finance Corporation Limited, REC Limited and POWERGRID Corporation of India Limited. 
  • It leads the market-related activities of the National Mission of Enhanced Energy Efficiency. It also aims to provide consultancy services in the field of Clean Development Mechanism. 
Enforcement Directorate - ED
  • ED is part of Dept. of Revenue under Ministry of Finance. Its prime objective is enforcement of 2 acts - FEMA and PMLA. 
NAFED
  •  National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd.(NAFED) was established on the auspicious day of Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October 1958. Nafed is registered under the Multi State Co-operative Societies Act. Nafed was setup with the object to promote Co-operative marketing of agricultural produce to benefit the farmers. 
  • It is registered under the Multi State Cooperative Societies Act
APEDA
  • The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) was established by the Government of India under the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority Act passed by the Parliament in December, 1985.
